Decriminalization of psychedelic in Washington DC

In the November 2020 election, Initiative 81—officially known as the Entheogenic Plants and Fungus Act of 2020—passed with an overwhelming majority of more than 76% of voters.

Also, a legislative proposal to decriminalize ibogaine, dimethyltryptamine, and mescaline (which are included under the measure’s definition of “entheogenic plants”). The measure makes no specific mention of other entheogenic plants, such as peyote. As far as the current language goes, it seems to only decriminalize those four specific entheogenic plants. Peyote still appears to be classified as a Schedule I drug in Washington, D.C.
